The Project Day Eighty-Five is an intimate adaptation by Aga Błaszczak inspired by The Old Man and the Sea. It tells the story of human struggle with fate and the acceptance of time. In this version the story moves from the ocean to a hospice room. Santiago meets a young nurse named Pablo who becomes his companion during the final days of his life. Shifting the setting to a hospital bed gives the narrative a deeply personal tone.
Among the visuals I created for the stage, a wild ravine of fish flows throughout the performance, morphing into shifting memories of the protagonist. I also animated a hospital lifeline synchronized to the beat. These elements were integrated into the live environment to enhance the emotional arc of the production, adding a layer of depth to the storytelling without distracting from the master-level puppeteering.
